We coordinate care. We do not provide it.
iMedCompanion is an information and coordination service for international patients seeking medical care in China. We are not a hospital, clinic or medical practice, and we do not diagnose, treat or prescribe. Everything we do exists to help you reach qualified clinicians efficiently and to remove practical obstacles along the way.
What we do
What we do not do
Eleven services, end to end
Each service addresses a specific practical obstacle. You can use all of them or only those you need.
Specialist & hospital matching
We shortlist clinicians whose declared clinical focus matches your condition, rather than defaulting to the largest nearby hospital.
Appointment arrangement
We handle hospital registration, scheduling and the practical preparation a Chinese hospital expects before a first visit.
Medical record translation
Your reports, imaging and history are prepared in a format Chinese clinicians can act on, with a plain-language summary for you.
Visa & invitation support
Assistance with the documents a medical visa application typically requires, including hospital invitation letters where issued.
Airport pickup
A coordinator meets you on arrival and accompanies you to your accommodation.
Interpretation
On-site interpretation for consultations, examinations and consent discussions.
Admission coordination
Ward arrangements, guidance on deposits, and daily liaison during an inpatient stay.
Medical report delivery
Discharge summaries and imaging delivered to you and, if you wish, to your physician at home.
Follow-up support
Scheduled check-ins after you return home, and help arranging remote review where the hospital supports it.
Accommodation & transport
Options near the hospital, and daily transport during your treatment period.
Cost transparency briefing
A written explanation of what is typically payable, and which parts are settled directly with the hospital.
From first enquiry to follow-up
One named coordinator stays with your case throughout. You will always know who to contact.
Initial enquiry
You share your condition, preferred city and rough timing through the enquiry form.
Case review
A medical advisor reviews the information and may ask for clarification or missing records.
Hospital options
We propose hospitals and specialists whose declared focus matches your condition.
Treatment estimate
A written indication of the costs typically associated with the procedures discussed.
Appointment booked
A confirmed appointment slot with the clinician you select.
Documents prepared
Visa support documents and any hospital invitation letter are organised.
Travel arrangement
Flights, accommodation and airport pickup confirmed against your appointment date.
Arrival & escort
Your coordinator meets you on arrival and accompanies you to your accommodation.
Consultation
Interpreted consultation, examinations and any additional investigations.
Treatment or admission
Coordination continues through outpatient treatment or an inpatient stay.
Report & follow-up
An English report is delivered and follow-up check-ins are scheduled.
Five levels of support
Packages describe the scope of coordination, not the standard of medical care — which is always determined by the hospital and clinician you choose.
Essential
For patients who mainly need guidance
Best if you are comfortable handling travel and hospital visits yourself.
Standard
Our most requested package
Covers the practical needs most first-time visitors have.
Comprehensive
For complex or longer stays
Suited to surgical or multi-week treatment plans.
Family
For patients travelling with a companion
Keeps companions informed and included.
Corporate & Insurer
For organisations and networks
For insurers, employers and referring institutions.
How fees work
Two separate kinds of cost are involved. Keeping them clearly apart avoids most misunderstandings.
1. Medical costs
Consultation fees, investigations, procedures, medication and hospital charges are set by and paid directly to the hospital. We do not set these prices, collect them, or take a margin on them. We provide a written indication of typical costs after reviewing your case, but the final amount depends on what your treating physician determines is needed.
2. Service fees
Coordination, translation, interpretation, travel arrangement and accompaniment are our services and are charged separately. Service fees are quoted in writing before you commit, and are not contingent on any treatment outcome.

No outcome is promised. Paying for coordination does not influence, and cannot influence, the medical decisions made by your treating clinicians.
Questions about our services
No. Packages exist to make scope and pricing easy to understand. Many patients use individual services only.
Never before the scope is agreed in writing. We quote service fees up front and they do not depend on any treatment outcome.
No. We do not negotiate medical fees and we take no margin on hospital charges. Medical costs are set by the hospital.
You can withdraw at any point before the services you have commissioned are delivered. Any fee already agreed for delivered work may still apply, as set out in your quote.

Tell us about your situation
A short description is enough to start. A medical advisor will review it and come back to you with initial options.
